Smash page

I'm back again, this time with a smash page. I used some of my favourite embellishments on this. Most of them were sent to me by friends too, the button and wooden people were from Karyn, the kraft doily was from Aideen and the love it tab from Jen :) Aren't crafty friends the best?!

Make salsa mini Smash*

A quick page in my new Mini! I already had the photo printed and wanted to Smash* so I came up with this.  I make this salsa all the time, it tastes like summer! I love it with nachos, quesadillas and it's perfect added to boiled rice to make a quick tasty Mexican rice side dish.

I used my new washi tape and camera stamp from the beary scrap and one of the cute yo-yo's that Karyn sent me.

Angie Delarie Friday sketch

Hi everyone, it's been a busy week here. Work and housework have been taking up all of my time. On top of that my laptop isn't working :( Just one of those weeks I guess!
I did manage to fit in a smash* page for Angie Delarie's Friday sketch challenge The challenge is to use the sketch provided an to use rustic colours and a pocket.

I used Angie's "Typewriter love" digi image. I had some close up photos but they are all on my laptop so I had to use a photo from my phone. The ink in the printer was running out so the image came out black, orange and red! See what I mean about it being one of those weeks?!

Coffee Smash

For the final week of Emily and Aideen's summer smash blog hop, the final challenge is a fun colour challenge. I'm very happy with myself because I actually managed to play along each week!

I thought it would be fun to do a coffee page because I hadn't actually Smash*ed one yet even though I have scrapped a few. I used some of my lovely new embellishments- doily, camera button, tag and bird (aren't they cute?!) that I won on the super talented and whose pages always inspire me Karyn's blog! :) Thanks again Karyn!!!! :D

Sunshine

Sunshine is something we have not seen much of this summer. June was the wettest June recorded! How I wish I lived somewhere sunny and warm. Until that happens I have to create my own sunshine. This page is for the sunshine/luz do sol challenge on Smash Mania . I used twine so that counts for day 20 of the 30 day Smash* challenge on Smash*aholics

Washi tape

I love washi tape! It has to be one of the coolest products to have come out lately. I added lots of washi tape to this page for the day two challenge on the 30 day Smash* challenge on Smash*aholics. So far this is only my second page and I'm doing them in a random order but once I'm getting some Smash*ing done I don't mind :)

This is about the Rhys Darby show we went to in Dublin. He has to be one of the funniest people ever! I didn't want the night to end. We also had a lovely dinner in Azteca and hubby did some shopping in Mr. Simms sweet shop :)

Favourite thing

Hi everyone! My new job has been taking up all my time this week so this is just a quick post as I'm back in work soon. I did this page about one of my favourite things - Garfield! I have loved Garfield since I was a kid and now my two boys love him so I just had to do a page about him. Button, bow and bling challenge

Over on the Smash* UK facebook page we were given the challenge to do a Smash* page using buttons, bows and bling. I love challenges and without them I would get so little crafting done! On the Smash*aholics page Kellie has created a fun 30 day challenge for the month of July so I will hopefully get started on those challenges soon :) Ok, so here's my page

Smash band tutorial

I got inspiration from a pin on Pinterest recently to make a Smash band. It's quick and simple to make and I got to use up some things I had sitting around!
The twill type material was wrapped around a pair of pyjamas I got for a gift. The yo-yo flower is one I made.

Materials
Twill/ribbon
Yo-Yo flower or large button
Hair elastic
Needle
Thread

First measure your twill or ribbon so it nearly fits around your book

A few quick stitches secures the hair elastic

Stitch the flower on to the twill

Put around your book and pop the elastic over the flower and you are good to go!

Colour me happy

Lasting Memories have a blog hop along with a fun inspirational photo/colour challenge on at the moment

I love the colours, actually I love everything in the photo! I used the colour for inspiration and did a Smash* page for the challenge. My hubby recently won a watch so the photos are of him modelling it! The watch came from Japan and the box was stuffed with a Japanese newspaper so I just had to use some of it on the page!
I'm also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp "anything but a card Challenge".
